Our ‘Greenhouse Clean and Care Service’ provides a comprehensive solution, encompassing a thorough cleaning of your structure inside and out. Additionally, our team meticulously inspects all moving parts, such as vents, doors, motors, and mechanisms, to ensure they are functioning correctly and efficiently. What does the Alitex clean and care service entail?
To safeguard your plants and pots from cleaning chemicals and water damage, we kindly request that you remove them before our service.
Our cleaning process involves:
- Utilizing a hot jet wash set at 60°C.
- Applying a biodegradable lifting agent to loosen algae and dirt.
- Rinsing with distilled water to minimize water marks.
- Disinfecting spray for the underside of benches and floor washing.
We continuously explore new techniques and products to enhance our service, ensuring your greenhouse receives optimal care.
We require the following from you:
- Ensure the greenhouse is clear prior to our arrival.
- Access to a 13 amp power socket.
- Availability of a cold water supply.
How It All Works
Remove all plants
We ask you to remove all the plants and pots to protect them from any cleaning chemicals and water damage.
Clean the greenhouse
The inside and outside of the greenhouse will be cleaned using an eco-friendly mild lifting agent
Check moving parts
All moving parts will be checked and lubricated to ensure they are working efficiently.
Here’s the process we follow:
- Cleaning Aluminum and Glass: We use an eco-friendly mild lifting agent to clean aluminum and glass, followed by pressure washing both internally and externally.
- Rinsing: The structure is thoroughly rinsed to minimize water marks, leaving the greenhouse gleaming.
- Glass Overlaps: Glass overlaps are pressure-washed to remove most algae and debris. Please note that minimal stains may remain as it’s not possible to entirely eradicate all traces of algae.
- Gutter and Valley Cleaning: All gutters and valleys are cleared, and downpipes are checked for blockages.
- Bench and Floor Disinfection: The underside of benches is disinfected, while the floor is pressure-washed.
- Internal Reservoir Maintenance: The internal reservoir is emptied and cleaned.
- Cold Frame Cleaning: Cold frames are cleaned to the same high standard as the greenhouse.
- Moving Parts Inspection: All moving parts, including vent torque tube supports, auto vent mechanisms, door hinges, and locks, are checked and lubricated. If replacements are necessary, our service engineer will provide recommendations.
- Shade Cleaning: Shades are cleaned in place and re-tensioned as needed. If required, shades will be taken down for cleaning. Please note that shades may not be restored to their original condition as algae staining cannot be completely removed.
FAQs
Can you clean the hydroleca?
Unfortunately hydroleca cannot be disinfected, we recommend you purchase replacement pellets.
Do you replace any motors or mechanisms during your checks?
The replacement of any roof motors/bayliss and the repairs of any leaks are not covered under the cleaning programme, however our team on-site can recommend which parts you need to purchase of required.
Will the cleaning service get rid of the limescale on my benching?
Removal of limescale caused by internal and external watering systems is not included in our standard cleaning service. Please chat to our team to discuss the best solution.
