Inspired by travels through the UK, this couple chose an Alitex greenhouse for its craftsmanship and timeless design. Installed in 2020, it became both a peaceful retreat and a productive space for organic growing and daily rituals.

Project Overview
A vision for design and hospitality
The journey began with a visit to the UK, where our client was inspired by the beautiful greenhouses she saw across England and Scotland. Originally drawn to the charm of traditional Victorian-style structures, she and her husband began researching manufacturers who could deliver both beauty and performance.
With a professional background in construction, her husband carefully assessed structural quality and long-term durability. Their conclusion was simple: if they were going to invest in a greenhouse, it had to be the best – and Alitex stood out for its craftsmanship, strength and timeless design.
The build
The greenhouse was installed in 2020, during a time when many people were seeking calm and purpose at home. For our client, it quickly became a sanctuary – a place of peace, routine and creativity.
After visiting several different Alitex models, the couple chose what they describe as the “Goldilocks size”: perfectly balanced for both productivity and enjoyment. From the moment it was complete, the greenhouse became central to daily life.
Growing in confidence
The results were immediate. Described as having “magical germination abilities,” the greenhouse created the perfect environment for healthy, thriving plants. Success in growing soon led to surplus produce – so much so that freezing crops became a regular part of the routine.
The experience has also dramatically increased horticultural knowledge and confidence. Growing organically and without chemicals, the couple now enjoy a deeper connection to what they grow. One focuses on vegetables, the other on flowers – a partnership that brings colour, variety and balance to the space.
More than just a greenhouse
Today, the greenhouse is about far more than cultivation. Morning coffee at the bistro table and the occasional happy hour among the plants have become cherished rituals. It’s a space that blends productivity with pleasure – part growing environment, part retreat.
A word of advice
For anyone considering a greenhouse, our client shares one key piece of advice:
Use the time while your greenhouse is being manufactured to plan how you’ll use it. Order seeds in advance, think about layout and workflow, and arrive at installation day ready to make the most of your new space from the very start.
