Project Overview
A family flower farm business inspired the desire for a new greenhouse.
Inspired by the beauty of English gardens, our client began their garden development project, drawing particular inspiration from Kew Garden. It was there that she first came across Alitex, spotting our Capel greenhouse nestled within the landscape. This inspired their custom designed structure for their flower farm.
The family flower farm business keeps our client busy in the garden all year round, inspiring the desire for a new greenhouse. It is the perfect space for propagating peonies, tulips, and zinnias, as well as growing lettuces and greens. Beyond its practical use, the glasshouse offers a space to plan for the next season, recharge, and connect with nature; a cozy retreat, even for a quiet coffee.
The Cold Frames play a key role in how our client uses their greenhouse. In spring, they provide the perfect environment for starting dahlia tubers early, while in winter, they offer a protective space for agapanthus to withstand the frost.
During the design process, our Sales Designer visited the property to explore different locations and styles. Symmetry was a crucial factor for our client, as her flower farm is structured into quadrants lined with hawthorn trees. To maintain these clean visual lines, she opted for a bespoke cruciform glasshouse.
